Japanese delegation visits Dagestan State University

Makhachkala, December 2, 2014. On November 29, scientists from Japan visited Dagestan State University, department of chemistry, the press service of the university told RIA "Dagestan". The delegation included Toshio Shibata and Makoto Kasuya from Fukuoka Prefecture.

Their aim was to learn the potential of cooperation with the DSU in analyzing the high-quality fuel to be produced at Dagestani refinery.
DSU Vice-Rector on correspondence and additional education Arthur Dalgatov and vice dean on academic activities of the department of chemistry Magomed Babuev took the guests for a tour of the faculty.

The delegation saw research laboratories of atomic absorption analysis, chromatographic methods of analysis of the sub-department of analytical and pharmaceutical chemistry, the laboratory of methods of analyzing Raman scattering at the sub-department of physical and organic chemistry, and the #13 laboratory of the sub-department of inorganic chemistry.

The Japanese scientists also saw what the department’s hardware can do: the new derivatograph in the laboratory of the sub-department of inorganic chemistry, the gas chromatograph with a mass spectrometric detector required to analyze the produced fuel, etc.

After the tour, the Japanese delegation visited some other departments of the university.
