Makhachkala, August 3, 2015. Today, the Russian Commander-in-Chief of the Navy, Admiral Viktor Chirkov has opened the naval competitions entitled "Cup of the Caspian Sea - 2015" and "Derby of Caspian - 2015"  in Dagestan, the assistant chief of the Public Relations Service of the Russian Navy, Captain 1st Rank Igor Dygalo informs.

"On August 3, the opening ceremony of the international competitions "Cup of the Caspian Sea-2015” and “Derby of Caspian -2015” took place in Kaspiysk. The contests will be held under the leadership of the Russian Commander-in-Chief of the Navy, Admiral Viktor Chirkov who had arrived in the Caspian Flotilla," - Dygalo noted.  

It was reported that Dagestani Head Ramazan Abdulatipov, the Governor of Russia’s Astrakhan region Alexander Zhilkin, the war and military service veterans attended the ceremony. The international naval contest are held in the Caspian Sea on a specially equipped area on August 3 - 15. Its total area makes 170 miles (about 300 sq.km).
