Makhachkala, August 2, 2017. The preparations for the shooting of the historical film "Mountain Pass" are being conducted in Dagestan. Its plot is based on real events telling about the events that took place in the middle of the XIX century, at the height of the Caucasian War.

"We are trying to convey the idea to people that this is a very important and necessary project not only for Dagestan, but for the whole of Russia" - the film's director Mukhtar Makhtibekov said, adding that the work is currently under way to find the money necessary for the shooting process.

"The film touches on the topic of interethnic relations, we show the traditions and culture of the ethnos," - Makhtibekov is quoted saying. At the same time, the director believes the main message of the film is the idea of "preserving eternal values, such as humanity, faith, valor, honor and heritage." Mahtibekov also announced a casting for the secondary roles.
