Makhachkala, November 10, 2014. The final stage of the "Young Innovators" project was held in Makhachkala yesterday, a source in Daghestan ministry of youth affairs told RIA "Daghestan". The Plug & Play Dagestan business incubator gathered students from 6 city schools to give them some workshops and let them compete with each other.

The first phase of the project was selecting the most gifted 8-10 grade students from several schools in 10 Daghestani cities through a specific research – a series of specially developed tests for identifying students’ creative abilities.

"It’s a pilot project, it has just started. We were holding it at the end of spring, at the end of the school year. That’s why we did not have time to cover all the municipalities of the republic. In the future, if the project is supported by the local leadership, we plan to expand it further across Daghestan. The research has shown that schoolchildren have a great potential. We need to let it grow and direct it,"- said Director of the Youth Innovation Centre of Daghestan ministry of youth affairs Renat Magomedov.

At the workshop, the students were divided into groups to come up with the highest construction possible capable of having a weight on top. The team of the №39 school turned out to be the most creative ones.
