Makhachkala, June 3, 2014. Students from Daghestan State University won the qualifying round for the "IT- Planet 2013-14" international Olympiad, a source in the university’s press service told RIA "Daghestan". The competitions within the Olympics are organized by major international companies such as Oracle, D-Link, Cisco, Intel, Google, Huawei, 1C, Net App, Inter Systems, Odnoklassniki, GNU/Linuxcenter,"- the source said.
This year, DSU students won the qualifier for the Olympiad in the North Caucasus Federal District. A 4th year student of the Faculty of Informatics and Information Technologies Magomed Abdulkadyrov won gold in the Huawei competition «Technology and 4G mobile network hardware» (a 3rd year student of the Faculty of Law Murad Rabadanov placed 3rd here). A 5th year student of the Faculty of Informatics and IT Angara Shikhmagomedova came 2nd in the competition "Best diploma free".
In total, the qualifying rounds attracted over 11,000 students and new graduates from 9 countries. They took about 13,000 online tests, sent more than 400 works and solved almost 900 practical cases. The jury was comprised of organizer companies’ representatives and officials from other leading IT companies who are potential employers for the participants: FORS, 1C- Gandalf, Soft Balance, i20, A-Vision, Apps 4 All, Pirogov's Bureau, KAMI, and others.
