DSU holds teleconference with American students

Makhachkala, November 26, 2014. Dagestan State University hosted a teleconference with American students in the hall of the Youth Innovation Centre, the press service of the university told RIA "Dagestan".

It was a conference for the students of the DSU faculty of foreign languages and Coe College University of Cedar Rapids, Iowa. The event was prepared by Dagestani teachers Zareta Aglarova, Angelica Bakhmudova, Svetlana Shakhemirova and their American colleague Julia Fairbanks.

The conference is part of the set of measures to develop and implement the Web 2.0 technology at the foreign languages faculty within the DSU Strategic Development Program. The students here had been making wiki-projects on Dagestan and Dagestani family values for a few years. The conference was also devoted to family values.

Foreign languages faculty staff and students (department of English) from all years of study were the ones to gather together to talk with their American peers. For over an hour, they talked about family values, shopping, education, future plans, and even about the national cuisine. It was a very warm talk.

It is the fifth event of the kind for students of the foreign languages faculty. Earlier, they had teleconferences with Oxford University, France, Singapore, and the CIS countries.
