Makhachkala, November 13, 2015. The residents of southern Dagestan will provide access to mobile Internet via drones. The project is implemented by employees of Moscow Institute of Technology in cooperation with the Institute of the Internet (IRI) within the framework of the state target program for the development of Russian segment of the Internet.

The program involves the use of drones with preinstalled wireless adapters. This will make the Internet available in remote mountain and forest regions of the republic.

At present, several relevant tests are carried out in Suleiman Stalsky district of Dagestan. If successful, the experiment will be extended to Agulsky and Dokuzparinsky districts.
