Makhachkala, July 9, 2014. Daghestanis are going to take part in the Moscow international Quran reciter competition. The qualifier for the jubilee 15th Moscow international Quran reciter competition among Russian Hafiz (connoisseurs and karis) Quran reciters was part of the "Tent of Ramadan", the press service of the Russian Mufti Council informs. Quran connoisseurs competed in 2 categories: "Tiliava" (eloquent reciting) and "Hifz" (knowing the Holy Quran by heart).
Daghestan’s Magomed Aligadzhiev won the qualifier in "Tilyava"; another Daghestan’s Magomed Aligadjiev qualified in "Hifz". Both the namesakes will represent Russia at the international Quran recite competition. All the participants of the Moscow qualifier were awarded participation diplomas and gifts.
In total, the Russian qualifier attracted 18 Quran connoisseurs from different regions: Moscow, Daghestan, Tatarstan, Chechnya, Perm region, and Ivanovo. The jury was: Chairman of the Penza region Spiritual Muslim Board Islam Hazrat Dashkin, Director of the Quran memorizing centre at the Russian Islam University Ibrakhim Sabirov, and Sheikh Ali of Egypt.
The jubilee 15th Moscow international Quran recite competition is scheduled for September 20 to be held in the largest Moscow concert hall – Crocus City Hall – under the patronage of Chairman of the Russian Mufti Council Mufti Sheikh Ravil Gainutdin, it was also supported by the Moscow government, the Russian ministry of foreign affairs, and the Russian ministry of culture.
