Makhachkala, December 2, 2014. About 1,300 Makhachkala school seniors have taken career guidance tests in a month, a source in Dagestan ministry of labour and social development told RIA "Dagestan".

The ministry approved the "Compass" series of career guidance activities in educational institutions of Makhachkala for 2014-2015 on September 23 to help employ students and high school graduates in the republic.

It is a comprehensive task Dagestan youth employment center "Uspekh" does in partnership with the Makhachkala municipal department of education and some Dagestani universities and colleges. The centre focuses on schools that train professionals really demanded in the labour market.

The series of career guidance activities named "Compass" was launched October 20, by now having encompassed around 1,290 high school students. It includes professional diagnostics, a talk with university officials, and watching an animated movie "Sobriety lesson" done by federal project "Sober Russia".

Professional diagnostics implies psychological testing to identify student’s professional areas of interest. The university staff talk about admission requirements and opportunities the university provides. The "Sobriety lesson" aims at promoting a healthy lifestyle and forming an active life position. Organizers say, the movie always inspires a mounting interest and leads to a lively discussion among students.

This academic year, the career guidance series will be tested in all schools of Makhachkala, and in 2015, it will cover all schools of the republic.
