Caucasian Coordinating Council established in UK

Makhachkala, January 16, 2014. The Caucasian Community Council NGO is officially registered in London. The council was established with support of the Caucasian Diaspora authorities and the World Coordination Council of Compatriots Living Abroad.

"The organization aims at bringing together Caucasus representatives, developing international relations, and promoting multi-faceted Caucasian culture all around the globe," said in an interview with RIA Dagestan Daghestani native Khochbar Ramazanov, Chairman of the Council, a student of the University of East Anglia, and a representative of the Novoe Slovo student community organization.

The council conducted a recital of a distinguished Dagestani composer, People's Artist of the USSR Murad Kazhlaev in the London office of the Rossotrudnichestvo [the Federal Agency for CIS Affairs, Compatriots Living Abroad and International Humanitarian Cooperation] October 3, 2014. Soon, they have plans to hold a photo exhibition of Dagestani master of landscape photography Magomed Shapiev, to show a film about Rasul Gamzatov, and hold an event dedicated to Dagestani art and crafts.

Khochbar Ramazanov added that currently, they are selecting assessors of the Council Bureau. It is desirable that they be of different nationalities and from different countries and regions of Russia. The Press Secretary of the Board position also remains vacant.
