Makhachkala, May 21, 2015. The Minister of Press and Information of Dagestan Aznaur Adzhiev and the Minister of National Policy of the Republic Tatiana Gamaley met with students of the journalism department of the philological faculty of Dagestan State University.

At the beginning of the meeting, the Faculty Dean Shaban Mazanaev introduced the guests and noted that they were frequent guests to the faculty.  Mazanaev outlined agenda for the meeting as a conversation on the development of cooperation between the university department and the ministry, as well as giving recommendations from part of both ministers to future specialists.

Tatiana Gamaley reminded that the Journalism Department had many problems, like all humanitarian universities in Russia. "We've negotiated about these problems, of course. But today I want to speak about purely professional affairs. I will speak on my own observations, as the Minister for National Policy.

When I came into the ministry, I did not like the departmental Internet site and the information policy lined by the Office. Then I started looking for people who could improve it. I would say that the republic suffers shortage of good informational journalists and analysts - those who write on topics profile for our ministry. We call this sphere "ethnic journalism." We hold annual competition among the materials on topics related to the national policy, the preservation of identity, the solution of national problems. But I have to say, the work is insufficient for the time being.

It is still hard to find a good journalist - they all are employed. For each of you this is a good incentive to work on yourself. I meet many graduates of the Journalism Department on different events. I look for the new rising generation of good journalists, who like their prominent colleagues will demonstrate true professionalism"- Gamaley added.

Then the meeting passed in the form of dialogue. Students got an opportunity to ask their questions to the ministers.
