Makhachkala, September 29, 2016. The divers of the Russian Geographical Society’s (RGS) expedition found an object, which looked like an anchor in the Caspian Sea near the coast of Derbent. Presumably, it belongs to one of the ships flotilla of Peter the Great, - the press-secretary of the Tatarstan branch of the Russian Geographical Society Irina Sadykova says.

"The divers detected an object similar to the anchor, and a hollow cylinder, which may be part of the ship's guns," - Sadykov said, noting that the discovery was made the day before.
