4 refugees from Ukraine already employed in Daghestan

Makhachkala, July 21, 2014. To date, 4 forced migrants fr om Ukraine have been employed in Daghestan, a source in Daghestani ministry of labour and social development informed RIA "Daghestan". 2 nurses, a chambermaid and a gardener already work at the "Dolphin" recreation center in Makhachkala where they have been sheltered.

Specialists from the ministry of labour pull a daily duty for migrants wishing to gain a foothold in Daghestan, find a job or be trained, at "Lezzet" and "Dolphin" recreation centers wh ere they are housed. The ministry has set up information plates on open jobs with details about the job requirements, wage rates, hot line numbers, etc. Each migrant has a special registration card with the necessary information. Moreover, they organized visiting job fairs at the 2 resorts with participation of employers from Makhachkala and Karabudakhkent, Kayakent, and Kumtorkali regions in July.

As of July 17, as reported by the Russian emergencies ministry’s Daghestan general board, 397 refugees and displaced persons from Ukraine have been sheltered in Daghestan. They are mainly residents of Luhansk and Donetsk regions. Some of them stayed with their relatives and friends, some were placed in 2 temporary settlements – the "Dolphin" recreation center (Makhachkala) and the "Lezzet" recreation center (Karabudakhken region) given the potential refugee influx from Ukraine.
