Makhachkala, December 4, 2014. Around 500 orphans have got their new families in Dagestan since the beginning of 2014, Dagestani Head’s commissioner for protecting family, motherhood and childhood Intizar Mamutaeva informed RIA "Dagestan".

"For the 10 months of 2014, 48 orphans and children left without parental care left their orphanages for foster families. Totally, 486 children got their new families for this period. This is a huge number - 97.3% of orphans and children left without parental care are raised in families," the source said.

I.Mamutaeva reports that about 500 people are willing to adopt or take custody of a child.

"There are a lot of people wishing to adopt or take custody of a child a lot, but not all of them can fulfill the desire because we don’t have so many children in place."- I.Mamutaeva commented.

"I’m happy to see ever more children with disabilities being adopted. In 2013-2014, there were 24 disabled orphans children that found their foster families."- the commissioner said.
