Makhachkala, September 12, 2014. About 1.8 million rehabilitation items have been delivered to the disabled in Daghestan this year, the press service of the regional office of the Russian Social Insurance Fund informed RIA "Dagestan".

Since the beginning of 2014, the fund’s Daghestan office has executed 11,460 orders from people with disabilities in Daghestan (8,942 rehabilitation items and 2.518 compensation orders), which makes up a total of 1,772,771 different technical means of rehabilitation and prosthetic appliances.

520 wheelchairs of various modifications have been handed out; 5,628 orders of linen and absorbent diapers have been fulfilled together with compensations. The hearing impaired have got 193 hearing aids and 26 phones with a visual text display feature. The visually impaired have received 210 special devices reading "talking books" for optical eyesight correction, plus 98 tactile walking sticks.
