Makhachkala, August 28, 2014. Out of 400 submitted projects, Daghestan representatives won 137 grants of the North Cuacasus youth forum "Mashuk-2014", said Daghestan minister of youth affairs Zaur Kurbanov to a press conference.

"The grant support plays a crucial role in implementing youth policy. It is no secret that youth policy is no budget-funded sphere, and the grant support of young initiatives is very helpful, and Daghestan youth’s participation in the forum is quite significant in terms of republic’s positioning. Each year, we try to send to the forum young people who really want to leave an imprint on the republic’s history by implementing his or her project. The previous 4 years, we tried to make Daghestan a "locomotive region" at "Mashuk", and now for the first time in 5 years we have placed first - 141 Daghestani participants were awarded grants totaling more than RUB 25 million."- the minister said.

Zaur Kurbanov noted that after "Mashuk", Daghestan ministry of youth affairs enhanced their cooperation with municipalities, raising regional youth policy to a new level. The minister also spoke about youth centers currently operating in 11 Daghestan municipalities as a key link in implementing youth policy. He also told about the ministry’s plans, saying that their priority was regulatory registration in this field and developing a state program for supporting rural youth.
