Ramazan Abdulatipov participates in VII Festival of Culture and Sports of Caucasian Peoples

Makhachkala, September 27, 2016. On 25 September, Dagestani Head Ramazan Abdulatipov attended the opening of the VII Festival of Culture and Sports of the Caucasian Peoples in Magas (Ingushetia).

The Minister of the Russian Federation for the North Caucasus Affairs Lev Kuznetsov welcomed all the guests and participants of the festival. "It is symbolic that the idea of holding the Festival of Culture and Sports of the Caucasian Peoples was born here, in Ingushetia, and it is gratifying that after seven years the festival has returned to its homeland. Over the years, this festival has become a unique event united the wealth of sporting traditions and cultures, "- the Minister noted.

According to Kuznetsov, the region has always been famous for its sporting achievements confirmed by the SKFO athletes’ victories at the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro.  Lev Kuznetsov expressed confidence that the festival would become a good platform for the education of future champions and for the cultural events with exhibitions of handicrafts, reflecting the rich tradition of the peoples of the North Caucasus.

In the end of the official ceremony, Ramazan Abdulatipov, in particular, noted: "Today's festival brings the ideas of friendship, brotherhood and mutual understanding. Caucasus demonstrates itself at a decent level, not only in sports, but also in politics.”

The ceremony also brought together the Head of the Republic of Ingushetia Yunus-Bek Yevkurov, the Head of the Chechen Republic Ramzan Kadyrov, the Head of the Republic of North Ossetia - Alania Vyacheslav Bitarov, the Governor of the Stavropol Territory, Vladimir Vladimirov, the first deputy Minister of the Russian Federation for the North Caucasus Affaires Odes Baysultanov, the deputy Plenipotentiary Representative of the President of the Russian Federation in North-Caucasus Federal District  Andrey Shishkin.

The distinguished guests planted trees and got familiarized with the historical and cultural traditions of the peoples of the Northern Caucasus.
