Ramazan Abdulatipov participates in first day of North Caucasus Youth Forum "Mashuk-2014"

Pyatigorsk, August 7, 2014. Daghestani Head Ramazan Abdulatipov participated in opening the North Caucasus Youth Forum "Mashuk-2014" taking place in Pyatigorsk, Stavropol region.

"There were thematic courts representing the traditional culture of the peoples of the North Caucasus regions; they were open for the guests all day long. The official delegation inspected the courts to hear what the stands were about," the press service of Daghestani Head and government’s administration told RIA "Daghestan". Daghestan delegation presented a model of the Naryn-Kala citadel to honour Derbent’s 2,000th anniversary; they told the visitors about how this event will be celebrated.

Russian president’s plenipotentiary in the North Caucasus Federal District Sergei Melikov noted the forum’s importance for the North Caucasus, "No wonder Vladimir Putin and other senior authorities pay so much attention to Mashuk. They consider it to be one of the most critical elements of the entire youth policy in the country."

"I am happy that the large-scale project is steadily developing meanwhile uniting active, energetic, and motivated young people.Enjoying a great development potential, the North Caucasus really needs to involve young people in the great constructive work of modernizing economy and social sphere," Melikov read from the Russian president’s welcoming letter to the forum participants.

At the forum, Ramazan Abdulatipov met with Daghestan delegation of more than 200 participants. "Our delegation is the most organized, intelligent and creative. For us, it is important that young people participate in forums and recreational activities, that they work to create. We need to move forward and become competitive," Daghestani Head said.

Over the past year and a half, Daghestan has reached the first place in Russia in terms of economic development and industrial development index and the fourth place in tax collection; for the first time in many years, it has entered the list of high-efficiency Russian regions.

Mashuk is a socio-educational project aimed at identifying and supporting initiatives by young active citizens and project teams of the North Caucasus Federal District in economics, law, politics, journalism, science, innovation, information technology, civil society, art, culture, volunteering and healthy lifestyle. The 2 sessions of the forum helped Daghestan delegation become one of the leaders in the number of grants awarded. 141 Dagestanis got a chance to realize their projects totaling more than RUB 26 million.
