Ramazan Abdulatipov: "Dagestan and Turkey have common ground for cooperation"

Makhachkala, November 28, 2014. The development and strengthening of sister-city relations between Dagestan and the Republic of Turkey have been discussed on Thursday, November 27, during a working meeting of Dagestani Head Ramazan Abdulatipov and the representatives of the city of Yalova, headed by its Mayor Vefa Salman.

In particular, the parties touched upon the prospects for the development and implementation of joint projects involving capital of both parties, plans related to the cooperation in the tourism sector, intentions to meet the educational, informational, ethno-cultural needs of ethnic Dagestanis living abroad. The top officials also mentioned the active involvement of the public, international organizations in the activities to protect and promote the rights of ethnic Dagestanis, the creation of national cultural center in the territory of compact habitation of the compatriots.

Let us note, Turkey has recently joined the top ten countries hosting Dagestan emigrants. The trade turnover between the republics in 2013 amounted to 27,555.54 thousand. USD. At the same time, as to Ramazan Abdulatipov, there were established trade and economic relations worth at least $ 1 billion.

"For us it is important to develop trade and economic relations with Turkey. We are interested in the fact that Turkish representatives established small and medium-sized businesses on the territory of our country, and we are ready to provide them with a comfortable conditions. Dagestan and Turkey have common ground for cooperation and we need to intensify the work, especially because Makhachkala and Yalova are sister cities"- R. Abdulatipov said.

This year, the birthday of Rasul Gamzatov has been widely celebrated in the city of Yalova. The local residents installed a bust the great poet R/Gamzatov (previously they opened a bust of Imam Shamil) in the park "Makhachkala". In this connection, the Head of Dagestan told the guests about the newly shot art-documentary "Rasul Gamzatov. Confession.
