Makhachkala, February 16, 2015. Dagestan deputy Prime Minister Magomed Issayev has allocated land for building an arch at Dagestan northern entrance from Stavropol region. In his working trip he was accompanied by head of Tarumovka region Marina Abramkina, head of Kizlyar region Andrei Vinogradov, and other officials.

After seeing the territory of Dagestan-Stavropol region border, Issayev outlined the approximate boundaries of the construction and expressed his ideas of decorating the adjacent area.

"Almost every region has at its entrance an object - a stone slab, a steel object, or simply an entry sign indicating that you have reached the locality. The greeting sign makes the first impression of the area. This arch will also symbolize the friendship that peoples of Dagestan and Stavropol region enjoy"- the deputy Prime Minister commented.

Honoured Artist of Russia Ali Magomedov and renowned architect Timur Magomedov had developed several versions of the arch and submitted them to Dagestan Head. The draft design implies that the entrance arch will have two towers and arched spans, and everything will be faced with mountain and rock-face stones. The construction will start in mid-March to be completed by the Victory Day, May 9. Later, they plan to landscape the territory and set up a park.
