Daghestani Head visits Soviet Union Hero Yakov Suleimanov

Makhachkala, April 17, 2014. Hero of the Soviet Union was the highest honorary title in the USSR, established by order of the Central Executive Committee on 16 April 1934. The highest state award is awarded to soldiers for outstanding achievements during combat situations and in peacetime. Approximately, there are over 12,600 holders of the title.

One of the Daghestanis, awarded by the title of Hero of the Soviet Union is veteran of the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945 Yakov Suleimanov. Today, Dagestani Head Ramazan Abdulatipov has paid a visit to to see the veteran at home.

Yakov Suleymanov went through a long life-risking journey defending freedom, independence and peaceful future of the country during the Great Patriotic War. Suleimanov took an active part in the process of raising the country from the ruins of war afterwards.

Speaking to veteran Ramazan Abdulatipov noted: "You belong to generation who liberated our motherland from fascists. You have been living a great life. We must educate our children on the heroic deeds of people like you. "

Daghestani Leader expressed his gratitude for the hearty welcome, wished health to Hero and presented him a valuable gift and a single financial assistance.
