Makhachkala, September 23 /RIA "Dagestan"/ Daghestan Minister of Press and Information Aznaur Adjiev met with young journalists at a regular class of the Civil Journalism School, a source in the school informed RIA "Dagestan". The class was about countering the spread of terrorism and extremism.
Emphasizing the media community’s role in this issue, Adjiev revealed some aspects of the media work in countering terrorism giving details of how to use or why not to use one or another mechanisms that media possess. He added that the good way to deal with the issue was to hold roundtables, discussions with schoolchildren and university students, meetings with representatives of the Daghestan Spiritual Board of Muslims, but he warned the participants against turning suck-like meetings into talk shows or any other kind of show.
The host and the audience also discussed the competition for the Daghestan head’s grant on clarifying the social danger of spreading extremist ideology and practice, and on designing and promoting a positive image of Daghestan over the Internet.
At the end of the meeting, the minister answered the young journalists’ questions and gave them some professional advice.
