Dushanbe, May 11, 2017. The Head of the Republic of Dagestan Ramazan Abdulatipov has invited the Olympic team of Tajikistan to free-style wrestling to the republic. The invitation has been voiced during Abdulatipov’s official visit to Tajikistan which coincided with the 25th anniversary of establishment of diplomatic relations between Russia and Tajikistan, the press service of the government and the administration of region’s Head reports.

Abdulatipov announced his readiness for cooperation in the field of sports. "We can host the Olympic team of the Republic of Tajikistan in free style wrestling. We take, among other things, all the expenses for the maintenance of athletes and the creation of good conditions for them" - Abdulatipov noted.

The foreign wrestlers regularly come to Dagestan to participate in big sports events, due to the authority and the high level of Dagestan school of wrestling, Magomed Batyrov, a sports columnist for the newspaper Dagestanskaya Pravda, says.

"It's no secret that Dagestan is one of the world free style wrestling centers. Many athletes note that there are the best specialists and sparring partners. Italian wrestler, European Champion Frank Chamiso recently admitted that he has problems with his sparring partners in Italy, but every second in Dagestan is a worthy opponent who can teach him something. There is no such thing that the team of Dagestan in freestyle wrestling conducted training sessions without the participation of foreign athletes. Most often, they are wrestlers from Poland, Italy, Kazakhstan and Ukraine. American wrestlers come from time to time. I don't really know what the situation is nowadays, but the Ukrainian sportsmen used to come earlier" - Batyrov confessed.
