Then, there was a live radio program where Abdulatipov shared his thoughts on the role of radio in the life of society on Vesti FM radio which had started broadcasting in the republic on January 13, 2015. This is the first time ever the head of the republic has spoken to radio journalists on the air.

The Dagestan head highly appraised the state radio archival fund which encompasses about 47,000 records: "It is a huge material: music, songs, people’s stories, and voices of many outstanding individuals who have made their mark on the history and culture of Dagestan. It is a merit of generations of radio staff who not only have created, but also preserved those precious records."

The history of radio broadcasting in Russia is almost a century long and it is still evolving. In November, Dagestani radio will celebrate its 88th anniversary.
