Makhachkala, July 9, 2015. On July 6 the members of the republican Government gathered to a sitting under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Abdusamadov Gamidov to discuss the state and prospects of the fishing industry in the Republic of Dagestan and to determine measures for the protection of water and biological resources of the Caspian Sea.

The vice premier of the republican government Sharip Sharipov, the minister of Agriculture and Food RD Battal Battalov and the representatives of scientific community, informed the Prime Minister of the Republic on the current state of the fisheries sector.

The officials noted that the republic displayed a stable tendency to increase the share of aquaculture commodity products in the total volume of aquatic biological resources (yield). Commodity pond fish farming is known as the most prospective direction of industrial fisheries, where all the processes: breeding, cultivation and protection of fish from eggs to marketable products, are regulated and man-controlled.

Following the meeting, it was decided to establish a working group to develop state program on the development of industry and to work out specific projects in the sphere.

Abdusamad Gamidov instructed to prepare proposals for the construction of a processing plant on the basis of one of the most successful fishing enterprises of the republic and to assist in the wholesale of fishery products. Gamidov also called to invite specialists to work on the development of the fisheries sector, in particular, Battal Battalov has been instructed to renew the personnel staff of the relevant fisheries departments.
