Makhachkala, October 8, 2014. Organizers of the 3rd Daghestan book fair "Tarki-Tau - 2014" gave a press conference at the Gamzatov National Library in Makhachkala.

This fair’s program is very diverse – it is home to writers, historians, artists, musicians and photographers. Here, readers can find books by various writers from all over Russia and even meet the authors in person. Still, the organizers would like to welcome more visitors and expand the geography of the authors presented.

The organizers say this cultural event is focused on an individual, his or her education, transformation, and alteration. There can be nothing better than a live human contact with a person who in some way affects your culture and reflects your spiritual life. The main focus of the fair is trying to make a difference in the education and upbringing of the younger generation.

The book fair will be taking place at the Gamzatov National Library, the House of Friendship, and the administration building of Daghestan State University on October 9-11. The visitors will be able to attend meetings with popular writers and poets, art, photo and illustrations exhibitions, flash mobs, literary and musical events, roundtables, and a children's playground showcasing books for young readers.

The names of the winners will be announced at the fair’s closing ceremony. Books published in 2013-2014 will compete in nominations like: the fair’s best book, the fair’s best children’s edition, the fair’s best popular science edition, the fair’s best national languages edition, the fair’s best illustrator, the fair’s special prize "Word", and the fair’s Grand Prix.
