"Rasul Gamzatov. My Daghestan. Confession” film presented to State Duma deputies

Moscow, October 22, 2014. A film titled "Rasul Gamzatov. My Dagestan. Confession" has been shown in the State Duma within the framework of Days of Daghestan, the press service of Daghestani Head and government’s administration told the RIA "Daghestan". Daghestani minister of culture Zarema Butaeva introduced a cinema to the audience gathered in the Small Hall on the third floor of the Russian parliament.

It should be noted that the film scripted by Ramazan Abdulatipov and Rustam Ibragimbekov, tells the story of Gamzatov’s childhood and youth, his finding the way in life and becoming a great poet. The director-producer is ​​Murad Ibragimbekov and Russian voiceover artist became Vasily Lanovoi, the People's Artist of the USSR, who was a friend with Daghestani poet for many years.

Speaking to the audience, Ramazan Abdulatipov recalled Rasul Gamzatov’s immense contribution to the history, culture, social and political life of Daghestan and the whole of Russia.

"The culture and history consist of experiences and practices of single persons and entire nations. So I think that the film is the beginning of a series of documentsries about the lives of prominent Daghestanis. Rasul Gamzatov is the real reflection of our culture, talents, feelings and experiences. The film clearly reflects Rasul Gamzatov’s childhood and youth, tells on his spiritual findings when becoming a great poet. These episodes are "diluted" by interviews with famous poets, artists and politicians of Russia and Daghestan, among them Yevgeny Primakov, Yevgeny Yevtushenko, Vakhtang Kikabidze. I'm sure this movie will touch everyone’s very depths, because the film is built on spiritual ideals that great Rasul Gamzatov truly praised in his works! ".

The film was shot right in the summer of 2013 in Daghestan highlands – in the poet's native village of Tsada, the cities of Makhachkala and Derbent and the other various parts of the republic.
