Makhachkala, September 8, 2014. On September 8, the "Moscow" cinema of Kaspiysk will be hosting the opening night of the documentary drama "Rasul Gamzatov. My Dagehstan. Confession" about the life and career of the famous Daghestani poet as part of the "White Cranes" Gamzatov days, the press service of the Daghestan head and government’s administration told RIA "Daghestan".

Scripted by Ramazan Abdulatipov and Rustam Ibragimbekov, the film tells the story of Gamzatov’s childhood and youth, his finding his way in life and becoming a great poet of his time. In 2013, the poet’s 90th anniversary was widely celebrated in Daghestan and throughout Russia. The film was shot right in the summer of 2013 in Daghestan mountains – in the poet's native village of Tsada, the cities of Makhachkala and Derbent, and various parts of the republic.

The filmmakers paid great attention to the beauty and majesty of the mountain region, to culture and centuries-old Daghestan traditions and spiritual wealth of people living on Daghestan soil. Special carefulness is seen in Rasul Gamzatov’s relationship with his father – national poet Gamzat Tsadassa.

The film stars well-known Daghestani actors and people of art. Spectators will see interviews with famous Daghestani and Russian poets, artists and politicians like Yevgeny Primakov, Yevgeny Yevtushenko, Vakhtang Kikabidze, and the poet’s daughters to complement the portrait of the famous artist and person.
