Makhachkala to host charity concert

Makhachkala, September 6, 2016. The Symphonic Orchestra of Dagestan and the winners of international competitions: the pianist Maria Nemcova, the saxophonist Vitali Vatulya, and the violinist Artem Shishkov will give a joint charity concert in Makhachkala on September 11, the press-service of Dagestan Ministry of Culture reports.

As informed, the unique concert will be free to anyone - the performance will take place in the charity project "Music for Peace". The main goal of organizers is to unite people with different political and religious beliefs through music, ultimately, to make the society more harmonious.

A classical music concert will take place in the Hall of Kumyk Theater. This performance starts the new concert season of the State Symphony Orchestra of the Republic of Dagestan ruled by the People's Artist of Russia, professor Valery Khlebnikov.

The concert program includes the works by Vivaldi, Mozart, Piazzolla.
Talking about artists, the Head of the Symphony Orchestra, Valery Khlebnikov noted: "The real virtuoso musicians capable of engaging the larger number of the unsophisticated listener to the classical music.

They are always in demand in various countries around the world. Therefore, it is pleasant to find out that Dagestani listeners appreciate the concert program we have prepared together. Since 2010, the project "Music for Peace" has initiated more than 150 concerts and public workshops in 50 cities of 17 countries affected by war, terrorism or natural disasters".

Maria Nemcova is a laureate of international competitions. Nemcova is a graduate of the Moscow Conservatory, the Royal College, Trinity Laban Conservatoire in London and Piano Academy in Imola (Italy), a founder of the charity fund “Music – for peace”. Maria often gives concerts in the best world platforms such as the Wigmore Hall and the King's Place in London, Moscow International House of Music, the halls of the State Conservatory in Moscow and Tbilisi, Besendorfer and Ehrbar Hall in Vienna, NCPA in Beijing, the YMCA in Shanghai and the cities of India and others.

Vitaly Vatulya is one of the brightest young saxophonists of Russia. Vatulya won the award of the European Saxophone Competition "Young Soloists" (France), the International Competition "Classical Heritage" (Russia), International competition of executors on wind instruments (Russia) and many others. Young musician is one of the authors and initiators of the international charity project "Music for Peace".

Artem Shishkov is a laureate of international competitions in the Czech Republic, Lithuania, Germany, Belarus, Russia, Poland, Austria and Belgium. Among them are the International Competition for Violinists and violists in Berlin (2012) and the International Music Queen Elisabeth Competition in Brussels (2012). Artem had obtained many awards and scholarships of various institutions.

Artem Shishkov performs in different countries of the world, taking part in many international festivals such as Gstaad Festival, Festival ete Mosan, Yuri Bashmet International Festival, Musica Mundi Festival, Art-November Festival in Moscow and elsewhere. The young musician currently is the first violinist of a string quartet Lipkind Quartet and actively gives master classes.
