Makhachkala, September 8, 2015. The residents of Derbent decided to draw a 1.5 thousand square meters carpet dedicated to the 2000-year anniversary day of the city.  The idea initiator is the republican Ministry of Culture. For this venture, the well-known painter Ibragim Khalil Supyanov prepared a sketch based on patterns and ornaments of old carpet works.

For practical implementation of this idea, the teachers and students of Dagestan art school named after M. Jemal practice their skills in the city. It is expected that the carpet will have be completed in the central square of Derbent by September 19.
