Daghestan minister of culture visits Tajikistan

Dushanbe, August 6, 2014. Daghestan minister of culture Zarema Butaeva visited Tajikistan’s capital Dushanbe on behalf of Daghestani Head Ramadan Abdulatipov, the ministry’s press service told RIA "Daghestan". The minister was here to establish cultural exchange with the former Soviet republic.

During the 4 days, Zarema Butaeva met with deputy Prime Minister of Tajikistan Markhabo Dzhabborova, minister of culture Shamsiddin Orumbekov, folk poets and honored art workers, and directors of cultural institutions.

The Tajikistan minister of culture was particularly interested in the Russian culture and investment forum "Culture and economy of regional policy in modern context" held in Makhachkala in April. Zarema Butaev gave details of the master classes, round tables, conferences, concerts of folk ensembles Dagestan, etc. She added they would be glad to hold a forum like that with the Tajikistani side.

Shamsiddin Orumbekov said that they planned to hold days of Tajikistan culture in Russia in 2015, "but cities like Moscow and St. Petersburg seem banal. We would like to go to the regions. Let's consider visiting Daghestan. We will be happy to visit your wonderful mountain region, since our cultures and traditions are really close." Zarema Butaeva liked the idea and added that soon, they’ll prepare and submit a cooperation agreement to the ministry of foreign affairs.

Later in the day, Zarema Butaev visited the Zavkibekov Tajikistan museum of musical instruments, the Tajikistan academy of fine arts, and met with Tajik art workers who expressed their hope for fruitful cultural cooperation and suggested ​​organizing exchange exhibitions.

On the second day of her visit, Zarema Butaeva came to the Tajikistan government and talked to deputy Prime Minister Markhabo Dzhabborova, visited the Sattarov Tajik National Conservatory and the Aini Tajik Academic Opera and Ballet Theatre, met with directors of secondary music education institutions, and spoke to Doctor of pedagogical sciences, Rector of the Tajik State Institute of Arts Dilovar Latipov. The minister said that they were going to establish a conservatory in Daghestan, so she asked a lot of questions about how the educational institutions work, about their statutes, background, structure, student admission, etc.

On the third and forth days, Zarema Butaeva visited the Tajikistan National Library, the Tajikistan National Museum, and the Tajikistan office of Rossotrudnichestvo – the federal agency on international humanitarian cooperation and affairs related to the Commonwealth of Independent States and Russian citizens living abroad. Summarizing her visit, the minister said it was very interesting and fruitful.
