The Chirkey reservoir had been seeded three times. In total 500 thousand species of trout fry were released in 2008, 20 thousand - in 2012 and 95 000 - in 2014.
Apart from the fry, invertebrate organisms (mysid and gammarids) were released in the reservoirs.

The local kinds of barbel, chub, perch and Caucasian bleak inhabit in the largest reservoir of Dagestan. Brook trout, rudd, crucian carp and common carp can be met in rare instances.
