Makhachkala, September 23 /RIA "Dagestan"/ About 3,000 people will take part in the international tourism forum "Open Daghestan-2014" scheduled to run September 24-25 in the Gamzatov National Library in Makhachkala, deputy chairman of the Daghestan tourism committee Muslimat Halimbekov said to a press conference in RIA "Dagestan".
The forum is part of the Daghestan development priority project named "Brand new Daghestan." It has been organized by the Daghestan tourism committee with support of the Russian ministry of culture, the Federal Tourism Agency and the Daghestan head and government.
This event has attracted federal and regional authorities in the field of tourism and recreation from 30 Russian regions and foreign countries, local authorities, expert groups, tourist agents, universities, and federal and regional media.
The forum aims at demonstrating the cultural, historical, tourist and recreational potential of Daghestan; it presents new projects and tourist products, gives a platform to discuss problems and prospects of developing the tourist infrastructure, offers recommendations for creating and promoting regional tourism brands, etc.
60 tourist agents, entertainment companies, municipal tourism facilities, suppliers of tourism products and services, traders, service providers, industrial and agricultural enterprises will showcase their products at the "Dagestan tourist" specialized exhibition here.
The organizers promise the forum is helpful for both tourist agents and the public who will be able to visit interactive platforms, a cooking show, and an animation site with life-size puppets. The event is expected to attract some 700 participants, 500 guests involved in the agenda, and lots of visitors – a total of 3,000 people for just 2 days.
