Makhachkala, June 10, 2014. On the border of Hunzakh and Shamil regions, near Zaib village, they started assembling one of the two asphalt plants acquired earlier in the year on the initiative of the head of Daghestan Highways Agency Zagid Huchbarov.

This is no random place for the construction - the plant’s products are going to be used in reconstructing the so-called Avar-Kakheti road (section of the Gunib highway - Vantlyashevsky Passage road) 0-136 km from the frontier with Georgia.

The facility is of great socio-economic importance for the republic; its construction is part of the program for bringing asphalt to administrative centers of Daghestan regions. This year, they plan to start reconstructing the 60-70 km road section.

Within a month, the new plant will be ready for producing high-quality asphalt. In two months or so, a similar asphalt plant will be installed in Lak area. It should be noted that this model plants (DS-186) are highly environmentally friendly; they can run on liquid fuel and gas. Asphalt is produced by modern technology using mineral supplements. Each plant’s capacity is 1,536 tons of asphalt per day.

Until the end of 2016, they plan to build 10 asphalt plants in Daghestan to completely supply the demand for quality asphalt-concrete throughout Daghestan.
