Makhachkala, October 20, 2014. Until November 10, Russia’s nation-wide campaign called "Long live forest!" will be underway in Daghestan, the press service of Daghestan Forestry Committee told RIA "Dagestan".

They have already started planting trees and shrubs, seeding, and clearing the forest. In schools, they give classes of forest preservation, reforestation and afforestation. The campaign is yet to plant about 14,000 trees and shrubs, sow 71 kg of forest seeds, clear out 69 hectares of forest and 17 km tree belts along highways, and plant 2,150 trees and shrubs along highways.

Every Daghestani can take part in the campaign contributing to forest preservation in the home republic by merely clearing out his or her favorite nook in the forest they usually have a rest on, and inviting friends and acquaintances to participate in the campaign.
