Makhachkala, September 21, 2016. The delegation of the Republic of Dagestan has taken part in the 33th World Conference of the International Association of technoparks and innovation development zones IASP-2016 "Global Mind". The event takes place on September 19 - 22 in Moscow. Dagestan has been represented by the Industry and Trade Minister RD Yusuf Umavov and his deputy Magomed-Tahir Gimbatov.

Opening the event, the Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev wished the participants of the conference to develop innovation management, to form innovation ecosystem and to expand international technology transfer.

Commenting on the purpose of the conference, Dagestani minister of industries and trade Yusup Umavov noted that technological parks contribute to the competitiveness and resilience to crises. "They have an ability to transform and develop depressive territories and, in my opinion, the most important - contribute to the spread of knowledge and technologies".

According to the minister, currently four technoparks in the sphere of production of nanocomposite materials and software are being created in the republic.

Noteworthy 1500 delegates from more than 70 member countries of the Association of IASP attended the conference. Among them - the experts of science and technology parks, innovative development areas, technological incubators, academia, public sector enterprises and business areas.

The participants of the plenary and parallel sessions discussed trends in the development of innovation infrastructure and the professional support for high-tech production, visited the exhibition sites of conference partners and international start-ups and made business trips to Moscow parks.
