Makhachkala, February 24, 2014. Daghestani ministry of trade and investment will support the management of a solid waste processing plant with a capacity for 350,000 tons per year worth a total of $3 billion.

As the ministry’s press service told RIA "Dagestan", earlier in the week, the minister of trade Yussuf Umavov met with CEO of the "Arvis" management company Issai Peissakhov in Makhachkala.

The company had requested to assist them in getting the land for the project. During the meeting, officials explained the conditions and procedure of getting Daghestan government’s measures of state support in investment activities to the project proponent.

"There are lots of those willing to build plants like that in Daghestan, but it doesn’t come to implementation. Certainly, the new recycling plant will help partially settle the recycling issues. The plant has a good capacity. After commissioning the plant, the problem of illegal dumps in Makhachkala will be solved to a certain extent.  We are ready to assist,"- Yussuf Umavov said.

Interestingly, opening of recycling plants in Daghestan is mainly proposed by Daghestani Head Ramazan Abdulatipov. According to him, all proposed projects should be thoroughly elaborated. Only in case the investor is serious with his project he will get full support which is all the necessary infrastructure and project monitoring at the level of Daghestani government.
