Daghestan ministry of economic development works out State program for reviving Aukh region

Makhachkala, March 26, 2014. On behalf of Daghestani Head, the Ministry of Economy and Regional Development has been developing Daghestan state program for reviving Aukh region, the minister Rayudin Yussufov said at a meeting earlier in the week.

Daghestan Head’s Decree of January 24, 2014, says that due to abolition of the Daghestan Governmental Board on resettlement and rehabilitation of repressed peoples, the Government’s  Decree of March 13, 2014, transfers its functions to the Ministry Economy and Regional Development .

In total, over RUR 7.5 billion were allocated for resettlement activities providing the Lak people of Novolak region with housing in 1992-2013. According to recent data, these funds have helped build 2929 houses (124 more houses are still being completed) and a number of social facilities including 7 schools for 2337 pupils in Achar, Duchi, Novokuli, Chapaevo, Shushiya, Novolakskoye, and Tuhchar villages, a 50-bed policlinic for 80 visits in Novolakskoye village, over 700 km of pipelines and networks were laid.

As for reviving Aukh region, to date, only 350 houses and 51 vacant plots of land have been returned the Chechens. For Daghestan Ministry of Economy and Regional Development, much work is yet to be done in this respect.
