Makhachkala, July 11, 2014. ‘Daghestan and Turkey establishing relations in trade and economics’ was discussed today at the press conference of Daghestan union of industrialists and entrepreneurs and Daghestan Mission in Turkey at RIA "Daghestan". The incentive for the meeting was the 2nd business forum "South Russia – Turkey’s Eastern Black Sea Region" held in Trabzon, Turkey.

Anticipating the event, the head of Daghestan branch of the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs Anvarbek Kadiev said that the business forum had aimed at developing mutually beneficial trade and economic cooperation between the regions. "It was a fruitful forum, the program was intense and very exciting. The RUIE’s Daghestan branch signed an agreement with the Trabzon Chamber of Commerce," Kadiev said.

He added that, "The Turks are willing to cooperate and work with Daghestani businessmen. Daghestan is a strategic area for them. They are interested in the Caspian Sea and the access to Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan, China and other countries. Today, the Turks are going to establish a logistics center, a place for accepting shipped goods, in Daghestan. Turkey's economy has recently been in the same situation as it is now in Daghestan. Developing small and medium-sized businesses was the key to success. Today, Turkey has a well-developed tourism, agriculture, and textile industry. It would be good if Daghestan learn the Turkish experience in this area. Dagestani must follow the path of small and medium-sized businesses," Kadiev said.

The head of Daghestan Mission in Turkey Tavlu Kazakbiev noted in turn that, "Our main goal is attracting investors to Daghestan, strengthen trade and economic relations and humanitarian ties. But before we attract investors from Turkey, we have to demonstrate our culture and willingness for collaboration. We need to develop our friendship and create new jobs."
