Makhachkala, March 13, 2017. Dagestan delegation has arrived in St. Petersburg to establish cooperation relations between the regions in the trade and economic spheres.
"In 2016, the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Republic of Dagestan signed four agreements with enterprises of St. Petersburg. In particular, the bilateral agreements on scientific and technical cooperation between Dagestan Development Corporation OJSC and the enterprises of Avangard OJSC and Svetlana OJSC have been signed, - the Minister of Industry and Trade of the Republic of Dagestan Yusup Umavov said.
According to Umavov, within the framework of implementation of these agreements, the non-profit organization “Scientific and Innovation Center” was established under the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the region. The newly established body is expected to focus on the project "Organization of High-Tech Production of Microwave Devices for Space Applications Based on Microelectromechanical Systems".
Umavov noted that within the framework of cooperation in the trade and economic spheres, five industrial enterprises were supported in establishing trade and cooperation ties with St. Petersburg. Thanks to this, several Dagestan enterprises will deliver finished goods to the Northern Russia’s capital. However, for the delivery of Dagestan's products to the retail chains of St. Petersburg, it is necessary to have a wholesale and logistics center. Yusup Umavov pointed out that this issue is actively considered with St. Petersburg City Investments Committee.
