Sochi, September 20 / Press service of the Daghestan head and government’s administration/ Daghestan Prime Minister Abdussamad Gamidov at the head of the Daghestan delegation arrived at the Economic Forum in Sochi and reported on the republican investment projects presented at the international event.
"Speaking about the real-life projects, I can mark out the Caspian flat glass plant we had presented at the previous forums in Sochi. Today, the plant is there and it is operating. We had also presented the project of the "Marabu" plant producing ceramic tiles and granite. The project is being implemented, and we expect it to be launched at the end of the year. The plant shops are already in place, equipment has been delivered,"- Gamidov commented. In 2014, 8 large-scale investment projects are to be completed in Daghestan.
Given the current geopolitical situation, Daghestan has a unique opportunity to establish productions aimed at import substitution both in industry and agriculture. There are 2 projects presented at the forum that are already being implemented - the Kikuni plant and a fishery project.
"This year, we are also presenting the project of reconstructing the Makhachkala airport ready to be implemented soon. The airport is expected to be able to serve a million and a half passengers. And it is worth noting that from year to year, Daghestan is attracting more and more investment,"- the prime minister emphasized.
