Makhachkala, February 9, 2012. If any of Russian athletes wins the Olympic or Paralympic Games 2012 in London, he will be awarded with a monetary prize - 4,000,000 rubles; the silver medalists will receive 2.5 million; the bronze medal holders will receive 1.7 million rubles.
According to the Order made public on the official website of the Russian Federation Government, the amount of monetary compensation to the coaches and specialists of athletic teams of the Russian Federation who contributed to the victory of Olympic Games winners is determined in the manner approved by the RF Ministry of Sports and Tourism jointly with the Russian Olympic Committee and the Paralympic Committee of Russia as agreed with the Russia’s Finance Ministry.
"Financial provision of expenditure commitments associated with the implementation of this Order is carried out within the budget provided by the Russia's federal budget for 2012 under subsection "outstanding achievements in Physical Culture and Sports" - the document signed by the Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin runs.
