Dagestan and Nepal discuss trade and economic cooperation issues

Makhachkala, February 19, 2012. The Permanent Mission of the Republic of Dagestan to the President of the Russian Federation held a photo exhibition by renowned photographer Ivan Kozorezov at the Embassy of Nepal. The motto of the event was a winged utterance of R. Gamzatov: "The symphony of mountains from Himalayan heights to Caucasian".

Nepal and Dagestan. Pearl of the Himalayas and the heart of the Caucasus. Thousands of miles and many countries share these unique parts of our planet. But they have much in common. The majestic mountains and rugged beauty, wisdom, hospitality and ancient culture of various peoples living in harmony for centuries under the same sky. These and other, often minor similarities of the two republics was represented by a collection of photos exhibited by Ivan Kozorezov who for several years have traveled to Nepal and Dagestan.

The exhibition was opened by the Ambassador Surya Kiran Gurung, who noted the long-standing friendly relations of Nepal and the Soviet Union and later Russia. He highlighted the contribution to the strengthening of these ties by the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Bank “Investment Union” Eugeny Kozorezov, whose enthusiasm helped to organize several expeditions to the Himalayas.

Both parties held talks on relevant issues of trade and economic cooperation, including in the spheres of tourism, hydropower and healthcare. At the end of the meeting both sides expressed hope for further cooperation, the first step which will be the visit of Dagestan delegation led by Eugeny Kozorezov to Nepal.
