Makhachkala, January 29, 2012. In Makhachkala the Republican Children's Library named after N.Yusupov hosted a meeting of readers and the World War II veteran Zinaida Saveleva. For almost a month the senior pupils’ service department of the Library has been holding the exhibition “Master’s hands create wondrous miracles”. The young readers could read the works of this energetic, vivacious, talented woman who witnessed the horrors of concentration camps, having experienced all the hardships of war but remained sweet, charming and friendly.
The readers have been captivated by exhibits: knitted dresses, jackets, colorful sneakers, lace napkins of various shapes and sizes.
At a meeting with readers, she told how she learned to knit, how to improve their skills, to learn a new scheme of knitting. Readers asked Zinaida Petrovna to tell them about her life. Again, the visitors were surprised. Zinaida Saveleva started telling in poetical form. She answered numerous questions about her childhood, friends, the war years and family with poems.
