Dagestani Kyokushin Karate Championship among men and women, as well as the championship among juniors (U – 17) will be held in the village of Gergebil of Gergebilsky district, on February 4-5, a representative of the local administration told RIA “Dagestan”.

According to the official, the purposes of the competition are: popularization of Kyokushin Karate in Dagestan, the development of sports contacts and exchange of experience between coaches and athletes from different cities and districts of the republic, evaluation of sports clubs in terms of educating sportsmen, increasing the skill level of athletes, formation of Dagestan team for participation in the Russian championship and the national championship among juniors.
