Makhachkala, January 25, 2012. The Republican exhibition of amateur artists "Persons of natural gifts" organized by the RD Ministry of Culture and the Republican House of folk arts has opened yesterday January 24 in the National Library named after R. Gamzatov in Makhachkala. The exhibition includes artistic works by Svetlana Iranpur, Ilyas Magomedov and Magomed Bahrichilov.
The authors of paintings, exhibited, can truly be called the persons of natural gifts. They are people who are truly and deeply feel the need to creatively express their own perception of the world with pencil and brush. The paintings presented at the exhibition can hardly be called the amateur artists’ works. In fact, the artists act at the professional level being the active participants of many republican exhibitions and the winners of many competitions.

It should be noted that the exposition and exhibition projects, dedicated to Dagestan "primitive" or "naive" art have been conducted by the Republican House of Folk Arts of the Ministry of Culture RD since the mid of 90s. During these years there were held more than 10 specialized exhibitions of sculpture, graphic and decorative art by famous artists who have not undergone vocational training.

Exhibition of amateurs opened at the National Library will run till January 30. The organizers hope that it will contribute to the popularization of amateur art, once again displaying how rich in talents Dagestan is.
