Makhachkala, July 29, 2011. Yesterday, July 28, Dagestan Economic Forum -2011 finished its work in Kaspiisk. The final plenary session to discuss the work of the number of panel sessions "Socio-economic development and cooperation of South Russia’s regions", "Fuel and Energy Complex. Natural resources. Priorities for Development", “Innovative Development”, "Transport and logistics complex. Opportunities and Prospects", "Tourism and recreation complex as a factor for economic growth in the region" and "Agriculture. Prospects for Development" had been held before the official closing ceremony of the Forum.
At the plenary session first acted the vice-president of the Russian Union of road machinery manufacturers Yuri Shenchihin. Shenchihin noted that the production of road construction equipment would soon be established in Dagestan at Buinaksk aggregate plant.
The Minister of Economy RD Marat Ilyasov summed up the discussion on "Socio-economic development and cooperation of South Russia’s regions".
The representative of the Russian Academy of Sciences Sergei Artobolevsky mostly spoke about the factors that may affect the economic development of regions, as well as the regional policy important in solving economic issues.
The deputy Prime Minister RD Rizvan Gazimagomedov summed up the results of the panel sessions "Fuel and Energy Complex. Natural resources. Priorities for Development". According to Gazimagomedov, the discussion was focused on the development of the hydropower potential of the republic: “The session participants suggested building only small and medium-sized hydroelectric power stations, since the construction of large hydroelectric power stations leads to flooding of areas historically settled with a large number of residents. He also noted that the session participants considered issues related to renewable energy, i.e. geothermal energy of the Earth, solar and wind power. All the suggestions will be drawn and submitted to the federal center”.
The Minister of Industry, Energy and Communications of the Republic of Dagestan Magomedgusen Nasrutdinov reported on the panel session "Innovative Development".
The first deputy Chairman of Transport Committee RD Magomedgadzhi Radjabov summed up the session on "Transport and logistics complex. Opportunities and Prospects". According to Radjabov, the session participants were unanimous in opinion about the urgent need for transport infrastructure development in the republic underlining its international importance.
The representative of the Research Center at DSTU Elena Pavlyuchenko reported on how the "Tourism and recreation complex as a factor in economic growth in the region" panel discussion was held.
The Minister of Agriculture RD Satmar Amirov reported on results of the session "Agriculture. Prospects for Development". As to Amirov the roundtable was attended by 65 Forum participants. All the panelists pointed out the key role of agricultural sector in the republic’s economy and outlined considerable prospects for its further development.
Closing the plenary session the deputy Prime Minister RD Rizvan Gazimagomedov read the draft Resolution of Dagestan Economic Forum, which runs, in particular, that all the subjects of the North Caucasian Federal District have good opportunities to achieve sustainable well-being of Russian citizens, national security and dynamic economic development, to strengthen Russia's positions in the world through the effective use of potential in agriculture, transport and logistics, tourism and recreation facilities, electricity, mining and manufacturing industries.
At this Dagestan Economic Forum 2011 has finished its work.
