Makhachkala, May 30, 2011. As earlier reported the administrative center of Kalmykia, Elista hosted the XIII All-Russian Exhibition of pedigree stock-breeding. The exhibition started on May 23. The event is held for the second time in Kalmykia. The first exhibition was held in May last year. The exhibition was made permanent by the decision of the Russian Ministry of Agriculture. Elista brought together the best pedigree breeders from all over the country: Kalmykia, Dagestan, Stavropol, Astrakhan, Saratov, Samara Region, Karachay-Cherkessia and even Baikal region.

Dagestan was represented by 10 pedigree farms. Apart from the elite animals, the exhibition introduced products of light and processing industries, manufacturers of veterinary products, machinery and equipment for livestock. On May 26 Elista hosted a scientific conference related to the problems associated with the development of the industry.

The agricultural firm “Chokh” was most appreciated among the agricultural enterprises of Dagestan.
