Makhachkala, October 1, 2011. The first National meeting of Young Journalists started September 30, in Makhachkala. The meeting was organized by the Russian public organization "League of young journalists," in conjunction with the National Library named after R. Gamzatov and the republican newspaper "Orlyenok-Dagestan."
The main purpose of the meeting is to form an active position of young people in relation to social problems, to develop a unified communication information area at the regional level and to improve journalism teaching methodic in the children's creative associations, centers and youth clubs.
The meeting brought together creative studios and clubs of young journalists and writers from different schools, press centers, the specialists working with young correspondents, the leading journalists of Dagestan, the members of the Writers' Union RD, the representatives of ministries and departments, public organizations. The program of the meeting included a roundtable on children's media, workshops on journalism, role playing, journalistic marathon, literary seminars, etc.
