Makhachkala, August 19, 2010. On August, 18, the President of the Republic of Dagestan Magomedsalam Magomedov held the meeting with the Commander-in-Chief of the troops of the North Caucasian regional command of Internal Troops of the Ministry for Internal Affairs of Russia Colonel General Evgenie Vnukov.

The chairman of the People’s Assembly of Dagestan Magomed-Sultan Magomedov, the Chairman of the Government of Dagestan Magomed Abdulaev, the First Deputy Chairman of the Government of Dagestan Rizvan Kurbanov, the Minister of Internal Affairs in Dagestan Abdurashid Magomedov, the Vice-Commander-in-Chief of the troops of the North Caucasian regional command of Internal Troops of the Ministry for Internal Affairs of Russia Major General Vladimir Ryshchuk, Major General Sergey Novoselov, Colonel Mikhail Voznesensky and others took part in the meeting.

Evgenie Vnukov, welcoming the head of Dagestan, informed that the Decree of the President of the Russian Federation assigned Colonel Boris Gontsov as the commander of the 102 brigade of Internal Troops of the Ministry for Internal Affairs of Russia.

The President of Dagestan Magomedsalam Magomedov greeted Evgenie Vnukov and noted the urgency of stabilization of the political situation in the Republic of Dagestan: “You know that we have difficult situation in Dagestan. We should strengthen struggle against extremism and terrorism”.

Then, questions of activity of Internal Troops in Dagestan were discussed.
